Portion fix used to just be associated with the 21 Day Fix program. However, because of the great success of these containers, Beachbody has began implementing them into all of their new programs.

I decided to highlight some of my favorite recipes that I’ve found from Pinterest. This is not only for myself, but to show you all that using these portion fix containers is not about limiting food groups. You can eat some amazing food with this system.

10 Reasons Why I’ll be using Beachbody on Demand to Lose Weight


If this is your first time meeting me, welcome. I’m Andrea. I am glad that you have stumbled upon my corner of the internet. Just a quick disclaimer: I am NOT a Beachbody coach, and probably will never be one. This is just my honest opinion and review of Beachbody on Demand.

If you are here, then you might be like me. You want to lose weight. A good majority of us probably do to some degree, right? If I had to describe myself, I would say that I am the stereotypical yo-yo dieter, who happened to fall off of the wagon a few years ago. I will save my “weight story” for another blog post.

Quick Beachbody Run-Down (From a Non-Expert)

Beachbody, if you are not familiar with the company – or you live under a rock, has been producing at-home fitness programs for years, dating back to the early 2000’s. They have been behind many successful and popular programs, such as 21 Day Fix, P90X, and Insanity.

Back in my day (here I go sounding like my grandmother), you would see the infomercials on television late at night, where you were promised to lose XX amount of weight with Turbofire. Those days are basically gone (at least I think anyway, because Netflix anyone?).

Now, you have two options:

  1. You can choose to order the DVD set, that usually comes with a workout calendar, eating plan (most of the time Portion Fix), possibly Shakeology, and some other stuff to get you started.
  2. You can get Beachbody on Demand All Access, and get instant access to ALL of the Beachbody programs. You can also access all of the workout calendars and eating guides electronically via the site.

So, why will I be using Beachbody on Demand to lose weight? Let’s get into this.

 10. It’s only $99.00 per year!

Say what? That’s less than $10/month. (I just ran off to do the math and it’s $8.25/month). That’s the equivalent of a couple of coffees from Starbucks, or maybe your lunch. I personally love the price. They have different payment options according to if you want to pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. However, I do believe the price may change if you choose anything but annually. (Don’t quote me on that because I’m not 100% sure).

9. You can access 600+ workouts from anywhere. 

Okay, I don’t know about you, but I am all about not leaving the house. Usually, when I leave work for the day, if I don’t run errands (or go to the gym) right away, it’s just not happening. This is why I love Beachbody on Demand. I can literally work out in my pajamas. (Although you might want to wear workout clothes – just saying).

I love the flexibility of being able to stream on my laptop or phone. There are also other options, like the Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, and Apple TV (and more). I don’t have any of those, but working out with my laptop works out just great.

It’s also awesome to know that if I go out of town or traveling, that I can still work out. But, that requires leaving the house right?

8. Fixate

If you didn’t know, the portion control system rocks! For people that suck at eating, like me, it provides you with a guide of exactly what to eat for the day.


Within the set, you will receive a purple container(fruit), green container (veggies), red container (proteins), yellow container (carbs), blue container (healthy fats), and 2 orange containers (seeds and dressings). There’s an easy to follow chart that is based upon your current weight as to how many containers of each color you will be eating each day. Takes most of the guess work out of eating!

Once you know the details of your containers, you look at the list of foods acceptable to put into the containers. Simply fill those babies up and eat!

Food does get boring though – we can’t eat grilled chicken, brown rice, and broccoli all the time.

This is where Fixate comes in. It’s a cooking show, using the portion control containers, hosted by Autumn Calabrese and her brother. There are literally tons of recipes in the form of short (around 5 minute) videos. This is only available to members of Beachbody on Demand, though.

7. Mixing up your workouts

We all get bored – with food, with workouts, with routines. That is why I love the options on Beachbody on Demand. Who wants to just go to the gym everyday and run on a treadmill? NOT THIS GIRL.

You can literally pick ANY workout and do it ANY time you want. If I want to do a workout from P90X today, I can. If tomorrow I decide I want to do T25, I can. Options people. This equals no boredom.

If I’m being totally honest here, though, I like routine. So I always stick with one program and follow the workout schedule. But go for it, you little rebel.

6. Shaun T Week

Um, Hello. Shaun T week is currently happening, and if you aren’t there, you probably aren’t sweating as much as me. Shaun T has been introduced to my life this week, and I’m in love.


Okay – not literally. But, the addition of Shaun T into my workouts has drastically increased my calorie burn and the amount of sweat during and after my workout. It’s absolutely ridiculous, but I love it.

Shaun T week is only available on Beachbody on Demand. No DVD’s required. Just do a quick google search and you can see that others are saying the same as me. Insane Focus is the name of the game this week.

5. Accountability

This kind of goes with the price of Beachbody on Demand. I paid $99.00 upfront. If I paid that much, I am using this bad boy. I want to get as much value out of this service as possible. Kind of like when you over stuff yourself at the buffet because you can eat all you want. Yeah, like that, but this time we are losing weight instead of gaining it.

I also love the accountability of the coaching, because I’m in a couple Facebook groups where others, like me, are posting their workouts and holding each other accountable. This usually comes with the DVD’s too though.

4. New Workout Releases

As a member of the All-Access Pass, I get instant access to all the programs Beachbody releases throughout the year. I just received access to YouV2 (a dancing program) not too long ago, and Shift Shop is being released in July!

This only adds to the crazy amount of options I have for getting my workout on.

3. Sneak Peeks

This kind of goes with number 4, but when a program is released, BOD members can usually try out a sneak peek BEFORE the program comes out. Monday, June 19th, we have the first day of Shift Shop available to us to try out. This program looks awesome and fully releases in July. I have also tried other sneak peeks in the past for other programs.

Just more options.

2. Trainers

Each day, I get to turn on my BOD and have my very own trainer. They show you how to complete the moves, encourage you to keep going, and have fully designed these programs to WORK.

I have yet to make my way through all of the trainers, but guys, they are all world-class athletes and top-knotch celebrity trainers. These are the trainers I work out with everyday. Now what were you saying about the gym?!

1. It Just Works

I have been using Beachbody on Demand EVERYDAY for almost a month now. I’ve lost 8 pounds so far. I definitely know I’ve lost inches as well, but sadly, I didn’t take measurements.

This is a lifestyle change for me. It is pushing play, every single day. No excuses, no stopping, no bullshit. Just pushing play and working as hard as I can for my workout.
